In the Solar 60 Refractor Telescope, iOptron created a telescope rig that merges versatility with portability to give you a platform for viewing the Sun, Moon, and planets with full Go-To capabilities, set-up assistance, and automatic tracking. For astrophotography and imaging, iOptron includes their iE1300 eyepiece imager. This CCTV camera fits in the focuser and boasts a 1.3MP sensor, auto white balance, and is plug-and-play compatible with Windows OS for observing and capturing your images. The 60mm f/6 doublet refractor optical tube assembly (OTA) features a short 360mm focal length with a front thread-on removable solar filter. Utilizing a removable filter allows the scope to be used for viewing the Sun with it on or viewing the night sky with it off. The OTA is mounted on the iOptron Cube-E GoTo Alt-Az mount. This compact mount measures just 8 x 5 x 5″ with a 7 lb payload capacity. It has a Vixen-style dovetail saddle to allow you to easily swap out the OTA that comes with it for a different or more powerful one. The Cube’s unique design eliminates “dead spots” enabling you to point your telescope to any point above the horizon, unlike other mounts which tend to block the telescope tube at certain points of rotation. This mount comes with a 110 VAC adapter to power it if you’re near civilization, but if you’re heading off the grid it can run on eight user-supplied AA batteries. An aluminum tripod is also provided to give you all you need to start your observation session.
