These versatile filters work like a dimmer switch for your telescope! Orion Variable Polarizing Filters let you adjust the brightness of visual images to an optimal level. They are ideal for toning down luanr glare to a comfortable brightness, depending on the phase of the Moon and the magnification used. You will see more detail in bright views of the Moon or a planet, or in the Airy disk of a bright star, while barely altering the color of the object.

Each Variable Polarizing Filter consists of two polarizing layers mounted in a special cell, which when rotated varies the light transmission from 3% to 40%. The filters thread into like-sized telescope eyepiece or threaded diagonals.
